How to Keep Coffee Beans Fresh

This video below will help you keep your coffee beans fresh for longer in 3 easy steps.

3 Easy Steps

STEP 1: Once you’ve taken your coffee from the coffee bag, close the bag securely every time.

STEP 2: Once you resealed the bag or closed the bag of beans, squeeze all the air from the bag. Air can cause your beans to go off quicker so you’ll want to try to keep it as air tight as possible.

STEP 3: Place the bag in a cool and dry area of your house, such as your kitchen cabinet or shelf

Other Tips

  1. Use an opaque storage container. Even though coffee beans can look really stunning, light can affect the flavour. Use an opaque tin to store your beans.

  2. Buy smaller batches more frequently. Beans will begin to lose their flavour almost immediately after roasting. It’s best to buy smaller batches more frequently to keep your beans at their absolute best.

  3. Freezing your beans can work well, but only if they are in a truly air tight container. Because coffee beans absorb odours and moisture, too much time in the freezer, or time spent where they aren’t adequately sealed, can lead to them tasting of freezer burn.

Reusable Tins

One way we answered the question of how to keep coffee beans fresh for longer was by keeping them in our reusable, air tight, two-way valve tins. They keep the air out and the flavour in, meaning you can enjoy your beans for longer (just like we do)!
